Nowadays visitors to southern Germany may experience something quite rare in the area near to the Royal Neuschwanstein Castle in picturesque Allgaeu - a caravan of camels!
Such an unexpected sight in this beautiful landscape is not a mirage, but the realisation of a dream for a young woman, whose love of dromedaries has now been turned into a very interesting business. Christine Sieber is now quite an expert on camels, after several years of rearing these unusual animals in Germany.
In 1997 his Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan invited Christine and other members of the "German Camel Club" to visit the United Arab Emirates. There they learnt to ride special racing camels. Much to everyone's surprise Christine made the newspaper headlines by winning the first proper camel race organised by Europeans in the UAE. On a further visit she had the opportunity to learn more about the UAE people and their culture.

Since returning to Germany, Christine has dedicated herself to fully training her nine dromedaries and would now like to introduce her fascinating experience to tourists and animal lovers alike. As a gentle introduction several guided tours are offered throughout Allgaeu or those more adventurous may like to take part in one of the many camel races being planned at festivals throughout Germany. As the name suggests, "Rent a Camel" is also available for business festivities, birthday parties, parades, openings ...
If you would like further information concerning these fascinating animals and their origin, Christine Sieber will be only too happy to share her knowledge and experience with you. Seminars have also been proposed for a later date.
